Trash Rats Rattery Policies /Procedures
<3 You must be 18 or older. If you are not, you must provide proof of permission from your parents. This can be provided by sending a letter stating you have permission to own a pair of rats. It must have a signature and contact information. You may send this via email at [email protected].
<3 You must fill out an application. <3 You must agree to sign an adoption contract and liability waiver.
<3 We only adopt to same sex pair homes. We do not adopt out males to a home that houses intact females and vice versa.
<3 All rats are to be adopted as pet only homes. This means no breeding.
<3 All contacts information provided by adopters is strictly confidential and is not shared with anyone else.
<3 When an application is received, we will review it. We will then send an email out to the email that was provided in application. You will be informed if it has been approved or denied.
<3 We are a closed rattery. We do not allow anyone in our rattery. This is to ensure the safety and health of our ratties.
<3 We do not travel outside for drop offs. We only meet at a location suitable for us. This will be a public setting.
<3 We are located in Bridgeport, Ct.
<3 We have a 48-hour refund policy. This is in our contact. You have 48 hours to take you ratties to the vet of your preference within 48 hours. If you discover an issue with your animal within 48 hours, please contact us and we will be glad to refund your money for any rat(s)/mouse/Mice from our rattery.
<3 I do not ship any of my Rat(s)/Mice/Mouse.
<3 Domesticated rodents can carry diseases. Although wild rodents are far more likely to be diseased (and all animals may carry certain diseases), pet rodents may carry Seoul/Hantavirus, Rat Bite Fever, and more. By adopting any rodent, you are accepting the risks involved with owning that animal. I am not liable for any diseases, injuries, or other damage outside of my rodentry. Please practice good hygiene and understand the responsibility of owning these pets and how fragile they can be if you do not ensure their safety and health.
<3 We do not breed as a chain store pet shop and so there will be a waiting list if you are approved by us.
<3 We do not show babies off to be adoptable at young ages so those who pass temperament and health at 6 weeks will be placed to be adoptable. And will go to their homes around 8 weeks of age.
